Exhibit designers are constantly challenged to create innovative and compelling environments. Architectural elements, colors, textures and materials are tools of the trade. The customized integration of these components must express a very specific and intent image, an image that reflects the voice of a brand.
One of the newer materials recently introduced to the commercial interior industry is Corian®, manufactured by DuPont™. Corian, once used exclusively for residential application, has infiltrated the exhibit industry. Available in over 130 colors, this low maintenance material can be formed into dynamic shapes to create awe inspiring interiors.
Display Presentations, with some of the most highly-skilled craftsmen in the industry, was perfectly positioned to expand its fabrication services to include Corian. This required DP to invest in special ovens that shape the material, as well as training under the watchful eye of DuPont. This venture, along with the award winning design capability, will keep Display Presentations on the cutting edge of exhibit and interior design.
Currently DP, in conjunction with Pat Lafontaine’s “Companions in Courage” foundation, is producing playrooms in children’s hospitals throughout the country. These whimsical and interactive environments are a haven for hospitalized children, a place where they can escape back to their childhoods. Corian, a non-porous, stain resistant material, is the perfect material for these delicate environments, and has being integrated into playrooms at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Huntington Hospital, with many more on the horizon.
